For detecting and determining the location of low-E coatings on single panes or double glazed units (4-10 mm glass thickness of individual panes). When checking double glazed units, measurements must be taken from both sides in order to determine the exact position of the coating.

Application: The device works according to a patented technology which recognises the "Low-E" coatings on glass panes. The glass to be tested must be clean, dust-free and dry.

Please use care when testing the glass, as the device can possibly damage the coating. Before testing the glass, ensure that the glass pane to be tested is not resting on metal or other conducting surface. Lay the detector with the flat underside onto the glass. Please make sure that the detector is at least 10 cm away from the frame. Do not cover the opposite side of the glass with your hand or any other object, as this could result in false readings. Keep the red button pressed to obtain the readings.

The following conditions can be recognised:

  1. "Clear" (green light) = float glass, no coating
  2. "Coated" ( red light) = float glass, front side coated
  3. "Uncoated" (yellow light) = float glass, back side coated
